ACCC raises concerns over Port of Geelong acquisition

The ACCC has issued a Statement of Issues outlining preliminary competition concerns with the proposed acquisition of the Port of Geelong by the Spirit Super Palisade Consortium. In particular, it is concerned that the acquisition will lead to minority common ownership between Port of Geelong and Port of Portland which may “substantially lessen competition in Victoria for the supply of port services for bulk cargo”.
