Overview (from notification register)

On 16 July 2019, HP PPS Australia Pty Ltd (HP) lodged a resale price maintenance notification.

Under the notification, HP proposes a new model for the HP Online Store, whereby HP proposes to supply HP products to a third party, which will on-sell direct to customers and receive payments from customers through HP's new eCommerce platform. The third party will also be responsible for the physical supply of HP products to customers. Under this arrangement, HP will specify the prices for which the third party will sell the goods.

On 10 October 2019 the ACCC issued a Statement of Reasons explaining its decision to take no further action at that time.  This means that the legal protection provided by HPā€™s notification will continue unless it is revoked.
